My Erfenis is in sy Moer

by Martin Labuschagne

van links na regs
(oog-)lopend het my voorsate
gestruikel, gestrompel
op ‘n pad
voorheen al deurgetrap, uitgetrap
tussendeur die aanklag van Eendrag Maak Mag
en ‘n lamsakkige landsvlag
was daar eens ‘n volksverlate enkeling,
‘n onteïende ekself op ‘n openbare veiling:
: as (ver)slaaf(de) verkoop,
wat ‘n winskopie-lafaard!
mettertyd was my toekoms
self-bevelk met potloodtoetse
en dice gooi vir ‘n ander man se kle(u)retoe: uit alles ‘n vermoorde massa herrys

weerloos en woedend –,
is ek ongesiens
na ‘n ou vyandsvlag weggevoer

Suid-Afrika, Suid-Afrika
tot nooit-weersiens,
want my erfenis is
in
sy
moer
!
